Mike Keesman

Mike Keesman is a postdoc at Leiden University and coordinates the research on the BENEFIT project. This project aims to uncover and implement psychological factors that make healthy living appealing: the carrot is mightier than the stick.  Mike graduated from Utrecht University with an MSc in Social and Health Psychology, in May 2013. During his PhD project, which he completed in March 2018, he primarily focused on the mechanisms of mindfulness to reduce desire. Mike is interested in the psychological factors underlying behavior regulation, and was trained to use experimental methods to uncover and modulate them.
